Classroom Garden at Cornelia Elementary by Susie Burton

Mrs. Thompson’s class at Cornelia Elementary built a new classroom garden in the  month of April.  Students helped drill together two by fours to create the garden bed.  Then they filled it with soil, and planted radish seeds and sweet potato seedlings.  They hope the radish seeds will be ready for harvest before the last day of school, and the sweet potatoes should take over the garden bed in the summer, helping to keep down the weeds and providing the opportunity for a harvest when students return in the fall!
