Wildcat Hill Garden

IMG_2699Yesterday, on beautiful, sunny MLK Day, the Northeast Georgia community came together to build a school community garden for the Rabun County public schools. We had about 40 to 50 volunteers participate including Melissa Williams, Rabun County Superintendent, Cindi Dean, Nutrition Director, Wesley Taylor, Facility Manager, and Bryan Edwards, Elementary School Principal. Some organizations that we would also like to recognize for their support of the project are Food Bureau, FoodCorps, the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia, and Southern Mountain Living Communities.

We are thrilled to have so many community members who are supportive of the Farm to School vision and motivated to get involved. Yesterday was an exciting step in getting Rabun County students more access to education on food and nutrition. We appreciate your hard work, and we look forward to what’s to come!
