. . . a Social Studies Lesson
Mr. Jeff Caudell and Terri Skinner’s 6th grade Social Studies classes at Hilliard Wilbanks recently studied the history, varieties, preparation, and the “field to fork” concept of the potato. A popular vegetable, the potato originated in the Andes Mountains of Chile and became an important part of the Columbian Exchange. Students were amazed as they discussed and realized all the varieties and recipes of a vegetable that has become a daily part of their lives.
